Cheon Eui-Young

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics by degree and development stages and factors related to range of burn in burn patients. This study was a retrospective study using medical record of 433 burn patients, who were admitted to one burn specific hospital during the course of one year. The most common type on for the 20-59 age group was by flame burn but the less than 20 age group was by scalding burn. The season most frequent for of burn accidents was by summer but for the less than 20 age group burn accidents were most frequent during winter. The time of day burn accidents were most frequent for the less than 20 and more than 20 age group was during the afternoon and night but for the more than 60 age group burn accidents were most frequent in the morning and the afternoon. Frame burn for type of burn, fire and explosion for induction of burn, summer for the season when burns most likely occur, at the break of day for the time burns were most likely to occur, all were significant predictors to explain range of burn (25%). The characteristics of burn was significantly different by age and degree and burn and a number of preventive factors influence outcomes in range of burn. These findings indicate that prevention education by age group and the preventive factors of burn should be considered in future interventions.
